Understand Important Bot Buster Terminology

**Quick Check** - This is the security check widget placed on websites to protect important internet actions. It can be configured by both the website owner and website visitor.

**Submission** - A submission happens when a Quick Check is completed on a website. Most of the portal functionality deals with valid, blocked and fraudulent Quick Check submissions. Website visitors can see all the details of their own submissions. Website owners can see all the submission details of all submissions created on their website.

**Identified Fraud** - This means a test submission that was identified as fraudulent manually. This can be done in the Website Owner portal or on the Quick Check portal by a website visitor who completed the Quick Check.

**Browser Fingerprint** - Every submission has a browser fingerprint. The fingerprint is created from the browser the Quick Check runs on and is a unique ID of the device and browser. It's created from many types of technical information and the ID and device details are both stored in the fingerprint. This can also be called DeviceID.

**Fraud Score** - This is a numeric score that each submission is given which determines its potential for fraud. The score ranges from 0-10 but it may be possible to go over 10. A score of 0 suggests no fraud and a score of 10 or more is considered fraud. Anything greater than a 6 is suspicious and anything greater than a 7 has a high chance of being fraud. Website Owners can create custom rules which block submissions which are over a certain threshold.

**Website Owner** - This is anyone who manages a website and Bot Buster on it.

**Website Owner Portal** - This is the portal where Website Owners install, configure and control Bot Buster. Also known as WO Portal.

**Website Visitor** - This is anyone who visits websites that use Bot Buster Quick Checks.

**Website Visitor Portal** - Website visitors have a free portal which they can go to giving them a level of protection, transparency, control and customization over the product and their data.

**Submission Type** - This distinguishes what type of internet action the Quick Check is protecting. Some of the possible submission types are below:

* Authentication - These are logins
* AccountCreation
* ContactUS
* DownloadReport
* BlogPost
* JobSubmission
* AuctionBid
* Vote
* Like
* Comment
* CartAdd
* CCPurchase
* UnspecifiedForm
* Other

**Additional BB Security Actions** - These are extra security actions website visitors take if configured in their user settings. These actions can be email or text notifications as well as email or text verification. Custom test instructions are also included in this group.

**Fraud Potential** - This is an easy way to see how likely a submission is to be fraud. The values are low, medium and high.

**Submission Threshold** - This is the threshold value that the Bot Score must meet or exceed for Bot Buster to block a submission.

**URL Location** - This is the URL for your website where one or more Quick Checks have been placed.

**Tags** - Tags can be created by users on the Website Owner portal. These can be assigned to submissions either using Quick Check rules or manually in the Fraud Explorer. Dashboard filters can include tags and these can be very helpful when labeling certain suspicious submissions or submissions which come from a particular site or type of location.

**Test Collection** - This is a collection of tests which can be assigned to Quick Checks. There can be default collections like the arrow collection or custom collections. Custom collections can be freely created by either website owners or website visitors.

**Test Collection Library** - This is a library of test collections available to use within an account. They can be found by Website Owners on Quick Check Rules or by Website Visitors within their User Settings. Collections can be added to libraries from the Collection Marketplace or from the Collection Creator.

**Helcim** - This is our payment provider. All payment functionality is handled through an account created with them. Yearly subscriptions and monthly invoices are created using their systems.
